Why The Foundation Was Established
The Annie Cooper Hope Foundation was started because of the profound impact of Annie Cooper's love for people and her selfless dedication to helping others, even in the face of her own stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis, which ultimately led to her passing in 2008. Inspired by her mother's unwavering compassion, Karen Larkin founded the foundation to continue Annie's legacy of generosity and support. In November 2023, Karen was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with liver metastases. Despite this challenging diagnosis, she achieved a positive outcome and was declared cancer-free in June 2024. This personal triumph reinforced Karen's commitment to providing hope and assistance to others facing similar hardships.

It’s knowing that God is our ever-present help in times of trouble, “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1)“ and that His love for us is steadfast and unchanging (Psalm 136:26). When we place our hope in God, we tap into a source of strength that transcends our circumstances.
